5 Essential Tips for Your Trip to Everland

Planning a last minute trip to Everland, I searched the internet for transportation and ticket options for our family of four. We were staying in Yeonnam-dong near Hongdae in Seoul, Korea and needed to get to Yongin, Gyeongi-do which is about an hour away by car. Follow what I did and you will have an easy trip there and back! No need to speak or understand Korean!
1. Getting to Everland
I purchased tickets for a shuttle bus that picked us up from hongdae and took us to Everland. The meeting point for the bus was super easy to find following their emailed instructions. We got picked up at the Hongik University station (exit 8), but they have other pick up locations too. The bus was on time, had comfortable seats and dropped us off right at the Everland parking lot. The ride took less than 1 hour.
The shuttle bus departs Everland at 6:30 PM so we headed towards the same spot it dropped us off at about 20 minutes before. Buses have their own special lane so it is faster than driving a car especially during traffic. It was a great bus ride and everyone got to take a nap!
2. Where to buy Everland tickets
To find the best prices to Everland I searched all over the the internet and found these tickets. They were much cheaper than purchasing directly from Everland. It was super easy to use. They email you the ticket vouchers which you could show directly from your phone at the entrance to get inside.
3. Use the Everland Smart Queue
Smart Queue is used to reserve your spot in line for major rides and attractions at Everland until 2 PM. At that time, it opens up to everyone and regular line up is available. If you do not want to use Smart Queue on your phone, there are several kiosk's available throughout the park. I highly recommend using Smart Queue to save time! The rides/attractions include: Lost Valley, Safari World, Panda World, T Express, Thunder Falls, Rolling X-Train and Lenny's Colorful Dream 1st & 2nd Performances.
- Download the Everland App before you go.
- Signup with their membership program SOMSATANG. If you don't have a korean phone number or kakoa, you can create a Guest ID. Everything is in english and it walks you through the steps.
- Now register your Everland tickets on the system which is saved in the Everland Pocket (max 12). Smart Queue is available to use as soon as you enter the park.
- Once you enter the park, start making reservations with the app. Do it right away as spaces get filled up quickly!
4. Look over the Everland Map
Everland is the largest theme park in South Korea. Please take time to look over the map and also check out what food options you are interested in. You can view the map on the app or download the Everland map here. The 5 major zones are: Global Fair, American Adventure, Magic Land, European Adventure, and Zootopia.
There are some steep hills inside Everland, you can avoid walking them up by accessing the Sky Way which connects the American Adventure to the European Adventure (4-seater) and the Sky Cruise which connects the American Adventure to Magic Land (8-seater).
5. Holidays at Everland
During the holiday seasons, Everland creates specific attractions with themes tailored towards it. These are limited time attractions and a must see! Check the Everland website before going to see if they are offering anything new for the season.
